The Challenge of Walking by Faith
One of the greatest challenges for a follower of Jesus is that we are called to live by faith. Do you know what that means? Faith, according to Hebrews 11:1, is having confidence and hope in what we cannot see. It’s like being put in a pitch black room and listening to someone tell you which way to walk. In other words, as followers of Jesus, we are called to live and walk in the reality that we can’t always physically see with our eyes. That is quite a challenge sometimes, wouldn’t you say?
Do you believe that as you take a step of faith these next 21 days by centering your life on Christ, implementing new spiritual disciplines, and making commitments to grow - that God is doing something great inside you that you can’t always see?
Here are 3 realities you may or may not be able to see on this 21-day journey:
God is rewiring the way you think/act/behave.
Rewiring is difficult. It is taking things we have grown accustomed to and changing them. If you’re fasting, spending more time in prayer/study, or implementing new disciplines, don’t be discouraged. Rewiring is not easy but it’s worth it in order to experience a deeper level of growth.
God is at work.
You must believe that God is at work in your life - ALWAYS. He’s always leading, guiding, speaking, directing, revealing. In the midst of this 21-day journey God is at work in your life. If you’re seeing it I hope you’re encouraged. If you’re not seeing it right now please don't give up.
God is honored by your sacrifice.
We don’t have to work or perform our way into God’s love and grace and that’s not what we’re doing when we make commitments like this. We do, however, bring honor to God when we take a step of faith and make an uncomfortable decision to change something in our lives because we desire a deeper level of spiritual growth. Your commitment honors God. God honors steps of faith and obedience.
Keep going strong. If you’ve fallen off from your original commitment don’t beat yourself up, simply pick up where you left off.
Our staff is praying for you by name!
